How the Invisalign Procedure Works

Initially, we schedule your consultation appointment with an Invisalign-trained doctor. The orthodontist will examine your teeth thoroughly. This way we determine whether Invisalign is the appropriate treatment for your dental and oral health or not.

Next, we check the current and detailed record of your teeth through X-rays that help craft a customized digital teeth model for your retainer. This impression of your teeth helps to conclude the movement of your teeth during treatment.

Next, we will send your records directly to Invisalign to create a set of your custom Invisalign retainer or unique aligners. You have to change your retainers every 1 to 2 weeks, as prescribed by us. Trays must be worn for at minimum 22 hours a day or it will delay your treatment and results. However, they can be removed while eating or drinking as well as when brushing or flossing your teeth.

The need for new retainers will vary with the present condition of your teeth. The treatment length will vary in accordance with each individual patient as well. Your teeth will gradually improve during your treatment plan until you reach your beautiful new smile.

Benefits of extractions and wisdom teeth removal

If your gum disease has progressed well below the gum line, we may recommend a consultation with a periodontist who specializes in gum disease-related surgery. For especially aggressive cases of gum disease, surgery may offer the best prognosis that allows for the gum and bone to fully heal.

  • Invisalign will result in beautifully straight teeth. Smile with confidence throughout the treatment as Invisalign is virtually invisible when being used
  • Easily remove and put on again when taking care of your teeth (e.g., brushing and flossing)
  • You can eat any type of food when removing the trays
  • Better for your gums and dental health

How to take care of Invisalign at home?

  • Make a habit of cleaning your aligners regularly
  • Do not use soap, denture cleaner, or mouthwash to scrub your aligners. Instead, rinse your aligners to eliminate the remaining saliva and plaque
  • Soak your Invisalign aligners regularly to maintain good oral hygiene
  • Remove aligners when eating or when brushing and flossing
  • Whenever you’re not wearing your aligners, make sure to always place them in their case

Who is this service for?

Invisalign treatment is suitable for both adults and teens as their jaws have stopped growing. It can fix your teeth-straightening and bite issues.

Aligners cannot correct bone issues. If a candidate has serious issues such as an extreme overbite or underbite, crooked teeth, then you may need to consider physically shifting the jaw bone through a separate medical procedure.
